About the MSRIT Tamil Sangam

 

Thangavel, Karthi and my daughters are studying at Yercaud, hostel. We use to have a family get-together monthly once at Yercaud, during the visiting week end. Also our three families are close to each other now even our kids are very close. The important aspect is, we are very close with our business consult, even if we are doing different business. I always respect the friends ideas and there advice in all the matter than any one. Friends are always true in all the matter. There is no secret between friends. [In all the matter].

 

Once at the time of our meet, we thought why should we alone enjoy this type of get-together and why don't we organize it for all of our MSRITians ?. This itself took us one and half year to come to conclusion. Finally we decided to fix one date and place, then we will call each and every one through phone or through letter.

 

We started the work for the 1^st meet. There was hectic pressure on us, to catch all of them and to inform them. In our minds it was that it should reach each and every one that again we are going to reunion. For me it is after 20 yrs. and see the senior person, they are meeting after so many years.

 

First meet was held on 17.2.2002 at GALAXY AMMA RESTAURANT - ERODE. 55- Members attended the meet.

 

In the first meeting itself we thought that we will start a association in the reunion and some of our senior will take care of our association. Unfortunately  nothing positively happened in the first meet. Then after 14-months past only few of them called me for the next meet. Again we decided for second meet on 27.4.2003. It was casual meet.

 

Second meet was held on 27.4.2003 at THE OASIS MULTI CUSINE a/c RESTAURANT - ERODE with 37- members. In this second meet 40% of them where new members when compared with the first meet.

 

In the second meet it was decided to keep the next get-together as a family meet at KODAIKANAL, but unfortunately this did not happen due to various reasons. Conducting the family meet is not a small job, other than our routine work one should do all the responsible work. It should not be a casual meet and it should be a formal and also should provide good entertainment to each family. Also the cost wise it has to be affordable by every one. So, these  points made us difficult to decide. In due course after the second meet some of them, even senior to me called me and asked when the next meet is.

 

So what we thought was, the last two meet was held at Erode, so this time we will keep in some other place. So we called coimbatore friends to organize the meeting. We called Mr.Suresh to fix the date and the place.

 

Third meet was held on 1.8.2004 at HOTEL HERITAGE IN - COIMBATORE with 57 members.

 

In the 3^rd meet office bearers were selected responsible for the next meet. There was big debate about the next meet. Do we need to have the 4^th meet as a family or bachelor get-together. Finally it was left to choice of office bearers to decide.
